Government launches new drive to promote woodland creation
Reasons to choose Wilson Browne
On 25th January 2022, the government launched a new drive to encourage farmers and landowners in England to create new woodland, by highlighting the availability of woodland creation grants.
Grants of up to £10,000 per hectare of new woodland are offered to help meet the government’s commitment to planting at least 7,000 hectares of trees per year in England by the end of this Parliament.
Alongside the grants, the government has also highlighted the benefits to individual landowners and farmers of woodland creation, which includes boosting biodiversity, reducing soil erosion and reducing flood risk downstream.
