Employment Solicitor/Associate/Senior Associate- Northampton

We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented and experienced Employment Solicitor to join our team based at our Northampton office.

We are considering individuals with a range of experience but are ideally looking for someone who is 3 years PQE, up to Senior Associate level.

You will need to be competent at working independently, handling your own caseload from initial instruction through to completion, and providing guidance and mentoring to our more junior team members.

This is a role where your voice will be heard, with genuine scope for a challenging but supported career.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will undertake a diverse caseload incorporating contentious and non-contentious work for employer clients.

Wilson Browne acts for a diverse client base including SMEs, OMBs, and listed companies. In addition, we also act for employees.

No two days are the same… you could be working on anything from Settlement Agreements to providing corporate support for M&A work as well as the full range of employment matters including, but not limited to:

  • Assisting with Modern Slavery Act compliance,
  • Playing an integral advisory role with a variety of projects (including re-structuring, changing terms and conditions of employment, and large-scale redundancy exercises),
  • Providing strategic advice in connection with Boardroom/SMT disputes,
  • Providing ad hoc advice on operational HR matters,
  • Assisting with data protection compliance, and
  • Representing clients in employment tribunals.

This is a role that will grow with you, and you’ll also have the opportunity to work on projects in conjunction with our Corporate & Commercial, Commercial Litigation, and Commercial Property teams. (Most of our teams being recognised by Legal 500).

On top of that, you’ll have first-class support from our award-winning Marketing Team, to assist with business development opportunities.

Many of our current partners trained with the firm and progressed to Head of Team or Board member positions, so the opportunities really are there for promotion.

Commercial Litigation Paralegal- Kettering

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic paralegal to join our busy Commercial Litigation Team at our Kettering office.

The position would primarily provide support to a partner dealing with complex litigation for businesses and individuals. Working with one of only two ‘Leading Individuals’ in the region as well as named Legal 500 Partners this is a real opportunity for someone to take their experience to the next level. Legal analysis and critical thinking are pre-requisites for this role. There will be the opportunity to run your own cases alongside providing this support.

In addition, there is the potential to get involved with some of the following:

  • Adverse Possession
  • Housing Litigation
  • Debt Recovery
  • Breach of Contract

There would also be scope to assist the team with breach of contract claims, shareholder/director’s disputes, professional negligence claims, and property/land disputes. The team also has a large Adverse Possession, Housing Litigation and Debt Recovery offering.

You will join a TIER TWO LEGAL 500 recognised team, that features three partners and a range of qualified staff together with paralegals and support.

We are looking for individuals with experience of the Civil Procedure Rules and ideally with some experience of two or more of the above areas as well as eagerness to learn and develop new areas of specialism. Essential skills are attention to detail and an ability to perform under pressure in a supported environment.

Corporate Commercial Associate Solicitor/ Junior Partner- Northampton

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Solicitor or Junior Partner to join our Corporate Commercial Team in Northampton.

Wilson Browne is the largest commercial law team in Northamptonshire – recognised by the Legal 500, Lexcel Accredited, and winner of numerous awards. It may come as a shock, but there is an active Company & Commercial market outside of the big cities – this region is thriving and with that, comes great opportunity for ambitious lawyers.

Our growing team works with local, regional and national clients; supporting them with all aspects of their business. We’re looking for someone with a broad understanding of the commercial and legal needs of corporate clients and experience in advising on: corporate structures; acquisition and growth strategies; succession planning; mergers and joint ventures; restructures and demergers; commercial contracts; and corporate governance. You will have entrepreneurial instincts and spirit and be used to collaborating closely with colleagues across a range of disciplines, clients and other firms and advisers. Corporate Commercial Paralegal- Northampton

We are currently seeking a full-time Paralegal for our busy Corporate Commercial team based at our Northampton office.

Our Corporate Commercial Team, recognised by the Legal 500, advise on a diverse range of corporate matters, including Acquisitions, Disposals, Management Buy Outs/Buy Ins and Corporate Restructures and we are looking for a keen and conscientious Corporate Commercial Paralegal, with excellent attention to detail to join our friendly and hardworking team. 

You will possess excellent IT, verbal and written communication skills, together with excellent inter-personal and client care skills, and the ability to work effectively in a friendly and supportive team.

Responsibilities:

This is a full and busy position and your role as a Corporate Commercial Paralegal will be to support the department’s solicitors on a wide range of corporate transactions. Your duties will include the following:

  • assisting with file management including attending to file set up and attending to regulatory on-boarding requirements;
  • drafting and amending corporate ancillary documents, such as Board Minutes and Shareholder Resolutions under supervision;
  • effecting amendments to corporate and commercial contracts under supervision;
  • co-ordinating and managing electronic data rooms, including organising, redacting and uploading documents and liaising with clients/third parties in respect of the same;
  • attending to dictation;
  • attending client meetings and calls and undertaking effective note-taking;
  • preparing documents for completion and facilitating signatures;
  • facilitating stamping with HMRC of corporate documents;
  • assisting the team with post completion matters, including preparing Completion Bibles, writing post completion letters to clients/third parties and attending to Companies House filings.

You will already have a law degree, and may in due course be looking for a Training Contract (SQE or LPC) or CILEX route.

Contentious Probate Paralegal- Leicester

We are looking for an experienced Contentious Probate Paralegal to assist the wider team in our Leicester office.

We have a highly regarded Legal 500 private client department. They often deal with HNW individuals who have national and international assets and interests. You will sit as part of the litigation team dealing solely with a contentious probate caseload and supporting the Head of Team. As well as local clients the firm enjoys a market-leading online presence (thanks to its in-house award-winning marketing team), and you will represent clients from all over England & Wales

You will assist on a diverse caseload of Contentious Probate and Trusts matters to include; Contesting the Validity of Wills, Inheritance Act Disputes, Trustee Disputes and Estate Disputes.

We are firm believers in training and progression, and so the role may suit someone looking for career development after an initial period.

Requirements

· You will have had exposure to contentious probate, commercial litigation, or general wills and probate matters.

· The ability to confidentially manage your own workload and to progress to look after your own clients

· Excellent communication skills

· You will be a team player with excellent attention to detail.

Commercial Property Paralegal- Kettering

A full-time paralegal is required for the Legal 500 recognised Commercial Property team based at our Kettering office.

Wilson Browne Solicitors are the current NLS Law Firm of the Year; were Highly Commended in two categories by the national Law Society; and the commercial property team is one of the largest in the county.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to further develop their skills in property but with a commercial bias. The firm would consider supporting the right candidate in obtaining relevant qualifications where appropriate, as the role would develop with the candidate.

The ideal candidate will be forward thinking, and wish to progress within a busy, professional team but does not need to have had prior commercial property experience, although some Property Law or Residential Conveyancing experience with sales and purchases is preferable.

This is a full and busy role and will include the following:

  • Dealing directly with clients,
  • Managing their own caseload, predominantly consisting of plot sales (including shared ownership leases) and management company deeds of covenants
  • Also assisting team members with management of their caseload and day-to-day progress of files
  • Creating and amending property related documentation
  • Dealing with and checking routine property searches
  • Dealing with enquiries over the telephone and via email
  • Production of correspondence & administration of client matters
  • Helping out other members of the team whenever possible
