How Do I Get Into Conveyancing?

Simply put, you take a chance and submit your application.

The starting point for any new career is making the decision to dust off your CV, write that cover letter and hit send for that job application.

Whether you’ve always been interested in law, you want a change of career or you want to simply see if it’s something you could be interested in, you have to put yourself out there.

Do I need a legal background or degree to get started?

Not necessarily.  Although conveyancing is a legal process, you don’t necessarily need to have a legal background to get started. As with everything else, you can start at the beginning and gain knowledge and experience along the way.

If you decide conveyancing is for you and you want to take the next step towards a legal qualification, there are numerous routes you can take.

If your dream is to qualify as a solicitor there is of course the ‘standard’ route of completing a law degree, the LPC/SQE and training contract/qualifying employment. Alternatively you may decide to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive. This route may offer more flexibility to enable you to study and work at the same time.

You may also decide to qualify as a Licensed Conveyancer. Again, you can continue to work and study part time.

We have supported and continue to support many of our conveyancers through a number of these different routes. There have never been so many options to qualify as a lawyer.
